Pakistan Navy Conducts Successful Rescue Operation for Crew of Burning Vessel in Arabian Sea
The Pakistan Navy successfully conducted a search and rescue operation for the crew of the merchant vessel Gold Autumn, which was reported to be on fire approximately 200 nautical miles off the coast of Pakistan in the North Arabian Sea. The vessel, a bulker built in 2001 and owned by Chinese interests, was en route to Sohar, Oman, when the fire broke out. The crew, consisting of 18 members from China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Indonesia, was safely evacuated and transported to Karachi for medical care. The Pakistan Navy's PNS Hunain responded to the distress call, providing medical aid, assisting in firefighting, and conducting a damage assessment. The operation highlights the Pakistan Navy's commitment to maritime safety and humanitarian assistance.
