BART Commuters Experience Major Delays Due to Equipment Failure in Contra Costa County
Commuters using BART's Yellow Line faced significant delays on Monday morning due to an equipment malfunction. The issue, identified as a wayside train control problem, disrupted service between the Pleasant Hill and Lafayette stations from 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. BART spokesperson Chris Filippi confirmed that engineers resolved the problem, but delays of at least 20 minutes persisted into the morning. The Yellow Line, which connects Antioch in eastern Contra Costa County to the San Francisco Airport, is a critical transit route for daily commuters.
