Ukraine Warns Israel of Diplomatic Crisis Over Stolen Grain Ship
Ukraine has issued a warning to Israel regarding a potential diplomatic crisis if a vessel carrying grain, allegedly stolen from Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories, is allowed to dock and unload in Haifa. The ship, named Panormitis, is currently idling near the Israeli coast after departing from Russia's Port of Kavkaz with over 6,200 tons of wheat and 19,000 tons of barley. This incident follows a similar situation earlier in April when another vessel, the Russian bulk carrier Abinsk, docked in Haifa with stolen Ukrainian wheat. Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has condemned Russia's actions, stating that the illegal export of Ukrainian agricultural products is part of Russia's broader war effort. The situation is further complicated by Israel's delicate diplomatic balance, as it seeks to maintain ties with both Ukraine and Russia.
