Senate Urged to Confirm Sean Plankey as CISA Director Amid Rising Cyber Threats
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is currently without a Senate-confirmed director, a situation that poses a significant national security risk as global cyber threats continue to escalate. The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC), represented by its Executive Director Chris Sullivan, is advocating for the confirmation of Sean Plankey as the director of CISA. Plankey, who has extensive experience in cybersecurity from his roles in the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Energy, is seen as a crucial figure in bridging the gap between government and industry to protect the nation's digital infrastructure. The urgency of this confirmation is underscored by the increasing cyber activities from countries like Iran, China, and Russia, which are targeting U.S. systems.
