Côte d’Ivoire Seeks Seat on ITU Council for 2027-2030 Term
Côte d’Ivoire is actively promoting its candidacy for a seat on the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council, representing Region D (Africa), for the 2027–2030 term. This bid comes ahead of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference scheduled for November 2026 in Doha, Qatar, where elections will take place. The Ivorian government, through its Permanent Mission in Geneva, has formally informed ITU member states of its intention to return to the Council and is seeking support from African and other member states. Côte d’Ivoire joined the ITU in 1960 and has previously served two terms on the Council, from 1999 to 2002 and again from 2019 to 2022.
