Colorado Agriculture Officials Confirm Local Produce Safe Amid Cyclospora Outbreak
The Colorado Department of Agriculture has confirmed that the recent cyclospora outbreak, which has affected food and water supplies across nearly every state, is not linked to produce grown in Colorado. Duane Sinning, the department's produce safety manager, assured that Colorado-grown fruits and vegetables remain safe for consumption. The outbreak has been traced to iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms, a California-based company, to Taco Bell restaurants. Despite the outbreak, Colorado's produce industry continues normal operations, with no local produce implicated. The state has reported nearly 200 cases of cyclospora since January, while the nationwide count stands at approximately 11,500 cases.
