Governor Announces Water Rationing Plan for Carraízo Reservoir Users
Due to declining water levels in the Carraízo Reservoir, Governor Jenniffer González has announced a water rationing plan for affected areas. Starting August 7, the plan will divide affected sectors into two zones, with each zone experiencing 48-hour water service interruptions on a rotating basis. The decision to implement a 48-hour cycle, instead of a 24-hour one, was made to ease management for municipalities and residents. The rationing will impact areas served by the Sergio Cuevas Filtration Plant, including parts of San Juan, Carolina, Juncos, Gurabo, Trujillo Alto, Canóvanas, and Loíza.
