U.S. Green Building Council Selects 53 School Leaders for Indoor Air Quality Fellowship
The U.S. Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools has chosen 53 school system leaders from 25 states to participate in its 2026–2027 School Air Quality Fellowship. This nine-month program, running from September 2026 through May 2027, aims to provide training, technical assistance, and peer support to help participants develop practical plans for improving indoor air quality and energy efficiency in schools. The fellows, who hold roles in facilities, environmental health and safety, business operations, and sustainability, were selected based on their district-wide responsibility for indoor air quality management, the potential impact of their planned projects, and balanced geographic representation across the U.S. The program will equip them with the School District Energy Efficient Indoor Air Quality Management Plan Toolkit, developed in partnership with the American Lung Association, Go Green Initiative, and the University of Utah, to create district-specific plans.
