Reform UK Conference Grants Access to Activist Facing Harassment Charges
Ryan Bridge, leader of the 'Raise the Colours' flag campaign group, was granted access to the Reform UK annual conference despite facing charges for religiously and racially aggravated harassment. Bridge, who denies all wrongdoing, stated he received an invitation to the event. His group is known for displaying Union and St George flags across England, which they claim is an act of patriotism, though critics accuse them of promoting anti-immigrant sentiment. During the conference, Nigel Farage publicly acknowledged Bridge's campaign, offering legal support and stating that the campaign has 'woken up vast parts of this country.' Bridge is currently on bail following an arrest by Thames Valley police for public order offenses in Oxford and is also facing a trial in East Sussex for common assault. Additionally, Birmingham City Council is seeking a high court injunction against Bridge and six others from 'Raise the Colours' to prevent them from putting up flags.
