Duncan Police Training Lieutenant Arrested for Fatal Hit-and-Run While Off-Duty
Duncan Police Training Lt. Jarrod Bishop has been arrested and placed on administrative leave following a fatal hit-and-run incident. Investigators allege that Bishop, while off-duty, struck and killed 40-year-old David Setayesh, who was riding his bicycle along Highway 81 around 10 p.m. on Thursday. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), Bishop allegedly drove onto the shoulder and hit Setayesh, then failed to stop at the scene. Bishop was booked into the Stephens County Jail on complaints of second-degree murder, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, and obstructing an officer, though he later bonded out. The OHP is leading the investigation. Setayesh's family expressed their grief, noting he was a father and a 'fierce protector.' This incident follows a separate event last year where Bishop was involved in choking a man during an OU football game, which the Duncan Police Department was investigating.
