High Air Pollution Alert in Israel: Health Ministry Advises Caution
The Health Ministry of Israel has issued a warning for high-to-very-high air pollution levels over the weekend, urging vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, children, and individuals with chronic heart and respiratory conditions to avoid prolonged outdoor exposure. The general public is advised to limit strenuous outdoor activities. The Israel Meteorological Service reports that the haze, originating from the deserts of Libya and Egypt, intensified overnight and is expected to peak on Saturday. Visibility across the country is likely to decrease significantly during this period. The dust cloud is affecting several countries in the eastern Mediterranean region, including Cyprus, Turkey, Lebanon, and Syria. The haze is expected to begin subsiding on Sunday and Monday, with visibility gradually improving.
