Russia's Defense Sector Launches RubX Cryptocurrency Amid Sanctions
Russia's defense sector has introduced a new ruble-based cryptocurrency, RubX, to facilitate international payments despite EU sanctions. The token, pegged 1:1 to ruble reserves, is part of Russia's strategy to bypass traditional banking systems, which have been restricted by Western sanctions. RubX is traded on platforms like BitMart and Finzy, although its volumes remain low. The European Union has already sanctioned RubX, prohibiting EU entities from transacting with it. Despite this, RubX aims to provide a payment channel to U.S. dollar stablecoins like Tether.
