Driver Barricades Self in Mentor House After Striking Bicyclists
In Mentor, Ohio, a driver barricaded himself in a house after a hit-and-run incident involving two bicyclists. The incident occurred on Headlands Road, where an SUV struck one bicyclist, causing a leg injury, and inflicted minor injuries on another. Both victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Following the crash, the driver fled to a residence on Orchard Drive and barricaded himself inside. The Mentor Police SWAT team was deployed to the scene, establishing a safety perimeter and attempting negotiations. Despite initial resistance, the suspect was eventually taken into custody and transported to a hospital for evaluation.
