Georgia High School Students Return to Class Following Shooting Over Vape Dispute
Students at Warner Robins High School in Houston County, Georgia, are returning to classes on Monday after a shooting incident occurred last week. The shooting, which took place on Wednesday around 2:15 p.m., involved two freshmen who were arguing over a vape inside a school restroom. One of the students reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the other in the leg. The 14-year-old suspect is currently being held without bond, while the victim is expected to make a full recovery. Houston County Sheriff Matt Moulton stated that the gun was stolen and likely brought to school in the suspect's backpack, as the school does not have metal or weapon detectors. Classes were canceled for the remainder of the week following the incident. Principal Brett Wallace and Superintendent Richard Rogers have announced that the return to school will include an increased presence of school officers, additional monitoring in hallways and common areas, and extra counselors and support staff to assist students.
