Tacoma Judge Rules Dogs That Attacked Pregnant Woman May Avoid Euthanasia If Relocated
A Tacoma woman, Renee Wilson, who was severely mauled by two dogs while nine months pregnant, is expressing outrage over a recent judicial ruling. The court has decided that the two dogs responsible for the attack may avoid euthanasia if their owner relocates them within 30 days. The incident, which occurred nearly two months ago, involved the dogs charging at Wilson, biting her on the head, legs, arms, and belly, and dragging her to the ground. Neighbors intervened to pull the dogs off her, and one called 911. Following the attack, Animal Control had initially declared the dogs dangerous and ordered their euthanasia. However, the new ruling provides an alternative: the owner must either place the animals in an animal shelter or remove them from the city at their own expense.
