Investigation Continues into Washington Terrace Fire as Victim Dies
A fire in Washington Terrace, Utah, which initially burned approximately 45 acres, has resulted in the death of an 87-year-old man named Ted Burrell. The fire, which occurred near a residential area, prompted temporary evacuations. Burrell, who was injured during the fire, died later that night. The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands is leading the investigation into the fire's cause, with assistance from the Utah State Fire Marshal's Office and the U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives due to the proximity of a Union Pacific railroad line. The fire also caused minor injuries to a Weber County Sheriff's Office deputy and damaged a trailer.
