Mass Shooting in Chicago's South Side Leaves Two Dead and Five Injured
A mass shooting occurred in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of two men and injuries to five others. The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. when two armed men approached a group of people standing outside in the 5100 block of South Wood Street and opened fire. The victims, whose identities have not been disclosed, include a 23-year-old woman who was critically injured with a gunshot wound to the head. The other injured individuals, ranging in age from 21 to 54, were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover. No arrests have been made, and Area One detectives are investigating the case. Cook County Crime Stoppers has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
