President Zelensky Engages Russian Oligarch Abramovich for Peace Message to Putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that he met with Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich in Kyiv, where Abramovich offered to convey a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding peace prospects. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine would not surrender the Donbas region, which remains a contentious area in the ongoing conflict. The meeting, which Zelensky described as not secret, was part of an effort to communicate Ukraine's stance directly to the Kremlin. Abramovich, who has been sanctioned due to his ties to Russia, has previously played roles in negotiations during the early stages of the conflict. Despite the outreach, Zelensky reiterated that Ukraine would not abandon its territorial claims, and any peace talks would not imply conceding territory.
