South Korean Intelligence Suggests Kim Jong Un's Daughter as Successor Amid Military Displays
South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) has reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's teenage daughter, Kim Ju Ae, is being positioned as his successor. This assessment is based on 'credible intelligence' and recent public displays, including her driving a tank, which are believed to be intended to demonstrate her military aptitude and dispel doubts about a female heir. The NIS briefed lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties in a closed-door parliamentary meeting, emphasizing that these actions are part of a broader strategy to construct a succession narrative. North Korean state media has previously published images of Ju Ae participating in military activities, such as firing a rifle and using a handgun, which are reminiscent of Kim Jong Un's own public military appearances during his grooming phase.
