Georgia Man Allegedly Poses as Missing Brother to Sell Home, Faces Fraud Charges
Kenneth Lee Harris, a Georgia resident, has been accused of impersonating his missing brother, Ted Harris, to sell his sibling's home in Powder Springs, Georgia. According to reports, Kenneth used Ted's identity to list the property for sale at $199,000, eventually finalizing the sale for $185,000. The sale was completed on April 7, 2026, but suspicions arose when Ted's family, who had not heard from him since January, discovered the sale three days later. A missing person report was filed for Ted Harris following the revelation. Kenneth allegedly convinced real estate agents and buyers of his identity by presenting Ted's driver's license. Neighbors were also deceived due to the siblings' similar appearance. Kenneth Harris has been arrested and charged with identity theft fraud and residential mortgage fraud, and he is currently held in Cobb County Jail without bond. Authorities have not disclosed Ted Harris's whereabouts or any charges related to his disappearance.
