North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un Showcases New Warship Amidst Military Expansion
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has showcased a new warship, the 5,000-ton destroyer Kang Kon, during sea trials. This event marks a significant step in North Korea's military expansion, particularly in its naval capabilities. The warship, which had previously suffered damage during a failed launch, has been repaired and is now undergoing capability tests. Kim Jong Un emphasized the importance of rapidly developing naval forces as part of a new five-year defense plan, which includes building larger destroyers and developing underwater secret weapons. This development comes ahead of a visit by Chinese leader Xi Jinping, highlighting North Korea's focus on strengthening military ties with China.
