Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has initiated an investigation into the alleged use of the AI chatbot, ChatGPT, by a shooter involved in a mass shooting at Florida State University. The incident resulted in two fatalities and five injuries. The investigation aims to determine whether the shooter used ChatGPT to plan the attack. Subpoenas will be sent to OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, to explore potential consumer protection violations and data privacy concerns. OpenAI has stated its commitment to cooperating with the investigation and emphasized its ongoing efforts to ensure the safe use of its technology.
