Middle School Students Avert Bus Crash After Driver Blackout
In Hancock County, Mississippi, middle school students prevented a potential bus crash after their driver, Leah Taylor, experienced an asthma attack and blacked out. Sixth grader Jackson Casnave took control of the steering wheel, while Darrius Clark applied the brakes, safely maneuvering the bus onto a median. Kayleigh Clark, Darrius's sister, called 911, and other students assisted by administering medication to the driver. The students' quick thinking and teamwork averted a disaster, ensuring the safety of approximately 40 children on board. The students were later honored for their bravery and will be treated to a lunch field trip.
