Ignite Hope Telethon Raises Funds for Mental Health as Senators Host Devils
The Ignite Hope Telethon, an annual fundraising event, is set to conclude with a special broadcast as the Ottawa Senators host the New Jersey Devils. The telethon, which began accepting donations on December 2, aims to support frontline mental health services for youth and children in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Last year, the event raised over $145,000, with the Senators Community Foundation matching all donations. The final night of the telethon will be broadcasted by TSN, featuring host Claire Hanna. Fans will have the opportunity to engage with team ownership, alumni, and player families during the event. The broadcast will also highlight four personal stories of individuals who have benefited from the charities supported by the telethon. These stories include Lucy, an 11-year-old with epilepsy, and Gabby, a 14-year-old who attended a grief camp after losing her father. The event will also feature a ceremonial puck drop and the sale of Brickley Bears, with proceeds supporting the foundation.
