Meridian's Ann's Alley Welcomes New Little Free Library
Ann's Alley in downtown Meridian has officially opened a new Little Free Library, a community initiative designed to promote literacy and shared reading. The project was brought to fruition through the collaborative efforts of local artists, businesses, and community partners. The library is uniquely built into a repurposed loading entrance and has been registered as Little Free Library Charter No. 228306. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the library by taking a book, leaving a book, or simply observing the new installation. Key contributors to the project include Scott Hook, who crafted the stained glass work and custom design, and Will Parker, who allowed the use of his building's loading entrance. Glass Incorporated was responsible for building and installing the framing and glass door, while Kylie with Crooked Letter | Made in Mississippi curated the initial selection of books. This endeavor highlights a community-driven approach to enhancing public spaces and fostering a love for reading.
