Consumer Product Safety Commission Recalls Squishy Dumpling Toys Over Choking Hazards
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for two types of popular squishy dumpling toys due to choking hazards. The recalled products include 8,000 GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings and 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun toys. Both types contain water beads that can expand significantly if ingested, posing deadly ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazards to children, potentially leading to severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and even death. No injuries have been reported in connection with these specific recalls. The GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings were sold on Amazon between May and June for approximately $20, while the Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun toys were sold at various third-party stores nationwide from May through August. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using these toys and contact the respective manufacturers for a full refund.
