Dallas Police Involved in Shooting During Traffic Stop, Driver Flees Scene
The Dallas Police Department reported an officer-involved shooting during a traffic stop early Sunday morning. The incident occurred on Mockingbird Lane near Preston Road. According to the police, the stop was initiated because the vehicle was being driven without headlights. During the stop, a male passenger allegedly assaulted the officer, leading the officer to fire his weapon twice, hitting the suspect at least once. Both the officer and the suspect were taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and remains unidentified and at large.
