Centre Denies Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Permission for U.S. Visit Citing 'Political Angle'
The Indian central government has denied Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy permission to visit the United States as part of his 'TelanganaRising' delegation. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) approved only the UK leg of his international tour, informing the State government of the denial for the U.S. visit after the delegation had already arrived in the UK. The MEA cited a lack of clearance from the 'political angle' as the reason. Consequently, Chief Minister Reddy will cut short his London tour and return to Hyderabad instead of proceeding to Boston. Reddy stated that the objective of the U.S. visit was to attract leading global educational institutions to Telangana and Hyderabad, aligning with the National Education Policy's goals to transform Hyderabad into a global knowledge hub.
