Erlanger Health System to Join Prisma Health in Strategic Partnership
Erlanger Health System has signed a non-binding letter of intent to join Prisma Health, forming a 27-hospital system. This partnership involves a $2 billion strategic capital commitment aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. The agreement, which still requires several regulatory approvals, is expected to improve access to specialty care and secure critical programs, including the region's only Level 1 trauma center. Erlanger, a key player in the Chattanooga market with $1.6 billion in operating revenue, will maintain its academic affiliations and leadership structure. Prisma Health, based in Greenville, South Carolina, operates 20 hospitals and reported $7.4 billion in revenue for 2025.
