Chicago Infant Dies in South Suburbs Rollover Crash, Seven Others Injured

A 6-month-old Chicago boy tragically died in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Sunday evening in the south suburbs of Illinois. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Interstate 57 in Harvey. Eight individuals were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Following the accident, seven of the occupants were transported to a local hospital for injuries. The infant, who resided in Englewood, was pronounced dead the same night at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, as confirmed by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The Illinois State Police initiated an investigation into the crash, which led to the closure of northbound traffic on Interstate 57 and an entrance ramp from 147th Street for approximately five hours.

A 6-month-old baby, identified as Dakari Lomax of Englewood, Chicago, was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 57 in Harvey, Illinois, on Sunday evening. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. near 147th Street. The infant was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. Seven other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals. Illinois State Police reported that no other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the cause remains under investigation. The northbound lanes of I-57 and the 147th Street entrance ramp were temporarily closed for several hours following the accident, reopening around 10:45 p.m. Sunday.
