Mary Russ Passes Away at 98, Leaves Legacy of Love and Unity
Mary (Stanic) Russ, a beloved matriarch and community figure, passed away peacefully at her home in Galion, Ohio, on August 3, 2026, at the age of 98. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 2, 1928, Mary was known for her dedication to her family and her community. She worked at Fisher Foods and Woolworths but devoted much of her life to her husband and raising their five children. Mary was an avid gardener, tending to her garden until the age of 96, and enjoyed playing cards and dice games. She is survived by her children Fay Spanos, Jean Mitchell, Neil Russ, and Dean Russ, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life was marked by her loving, kind, and caring nature, and she was a caregiver to many.
