LAPD Offers Reward in Fatal Hit-and-Run of Chicago Man Visiting Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Police Department has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident. The victim, Jose 'Joey' Melesio, a 65-year-old man from Chicago, was killed on April 27 while visiting family in Los Angeles. Melesio was struck by a vehicle traveling at high speed near South Figueroa Street and 75th Street. The driver fled the scene without providing aid, classifying the incident as a felony hit-and-run. The suspect vehicle is described as a small, four-door sedan, possibly white, gray, or silver. The LAPD is urging anyone with information, especially auto body shops that may have serviced a vehicle with front-end damage, to come forward.
