The controversy arose as Piker called for an end to U.S. military aid to Israel during his speech at the event. J Street clarified that its campus arm, J Street U, contributed financially for an exhibit table but had no involvement in selecting speakers or approving the program. The group emphasized its disagreement with Piker's views but maintained the importance of engaging in spaces where future Democratic leaders discuss such issues. The event, held in Washington, DC, included other notable speakers like Rep. Jamie Raskin and Randi Weingarten.
