Judge Considers Dismissing President Trump's Defamation Lawsuit Against Wall Street Journal
A federal judge in Florida is evaluating whether to dismiss President Trump's $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal. The lawsuit, which also names Rupert Murdoch, stems from a July 2025 article about a letter allegedly from Trump included in a birthday book for Jeffrey Epstein. Trump denies authoring the letter and claims the Journal published the story despite knowing it was false. Initially dismissed in April for not meeting the 'actual malice' standard, the case was refiled in May. Trump's attorney, Alejandro Brito, argues the Journal failed to adhere to journalistic standards. However, the judge expressed skepticism about the financial harm claimed by Trump, suggesting the lawsuit may not proceed.
