Gatwick Airport Faces Major Water Outage, Disrupting Services for Passengers
Gatwick Airport experienced a significant disruption on Sunday morning when both terminals lost running water due to a power failure at a local treatment works. This outage led to the closure of all bars and restaurants, and long queues formed outside toilets. SES Water, the supplier, reported that the power outage at the Bough Beech treatment works caused low water pressure or temporary loss of supply for some customers. By Sunday evening, water pressure began returning to normal, and Gatwick Airport staff distributed bottled water to passengers. Despite the inconvenience, no flights were canceled, and additional teams were deployed to assist passengers and reopen facilities.
