Chicago Pastor Organizes Unity Gathering to Establish Violence-Free Zone
Pastor Corey B. Brooks, along with Project H.O.O.D., organized a '1000 Men Unity Gathering' on Chicago's South Side to declare the area a violence-free zone. The event, held at the Robert R. McCormick Leadership & Economic Opportunity Center, brought together approximately 750 men, including community leaders, former gang members, and residents, to promote peace and safety. The initiative aims to transform a neighborhood once considered one of Chicago's most dangerous into a safe and supportive environment for families and children. The center will focus on workforce development, mentorship, and community engagement to address violence and poverty.
