Big Bear Eagle Jackie Shows Signs of Recovery After Health Scare
Jackie, a well-known bald eagle from Big Bear Lake, is showing signs of recovery after a recent health scare. Rescued by the San Dimas Raptor Rescue, Jackie was found weak and unable to fly. She was transferred to the Ojai Raptor Center, where she received a life-saving blood transfusion. Despite a setback over the weekend, her condition has improved, with increased energy and alertness. Her packed cell volume, a critical health indicator, has doubled, although it remains below normal. The cause of her symptoms, including kidney inflammation and severe anemia, is still undetermined, but experts remain cautiously hopeful.
