Police Shooting Causes Major Traffic Disruption on LA's 405 Freeway
A police shooting early Friday morning led to the closure of several lanes on the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles, causing significant traffic disruptions. The incident began when a taxi driver reported being robbed at gunpoint in Westchester. The suspect, identified in a black Kia Soul, fled the scene, leading police on a chase onto the northbound 405 Freeway. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly fired at officers and was subsequently shot by police after refusing to drop his weapon. The suspect was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The freeway closure near Howard Hughes Parkway resulted in heavy delays, particularly affecting traffic near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
