Canadian Government Invests Over $10 Million in Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food Processing
The Canadian federal government has announced an investment of more than $10 million in nine agriculture and agri-food projects in Saskatchewan. This funding, revealed by Prairies Economic Development Canada, aims to support food processing, agricultural technology, genomics research, and export development. Key recipients include the Global Agri-Food Advancement Partnership and the Global Institute for Food Security. The investment is intended to help businesses develop new products, commercialize technology, and expand production capacity. Infrastructure upgrades are also planned for companies like POS Biosciences Corp. and Bioriginal Food & Science Corp. to modernize facilities. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance productivity and diversify export markets in response to global trade conditions.
