The series is a collaboration between NPR's Embedded, The Seattle Times, and KUOW. Hosts Sydney Brownstone and Will James, along with reporter David Gutman, delve into the circumstances surrounding Mays' death, seeking to uncover new evidence and testimonies from key figures and eyewitnesses present during the incident. The series aims to shed light on the events that led to the shooting of Mays, who had traveled to Seattle to participate in the racial justice movement.
