Oakland Mayor Adrian Wiggins Arrested on Charges of Campaign Sign Theft Conspiracy
George Adrian Wiggins, the mayor of Oakland, Tennessee, was arrested and booked on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit theft of property. His son, Thomas Wiggins, and Isabella Marino were also arrested in connection with the incident. The three are accused of planning and stealing numerous campaign signs. The investigation began on August 6 when police received reports of 'No Wiggins' signs being stolen from West Junior High. On August 12, a flash drive containing footage of the signs being stolen was provided to the police, showing two vehicles and several individuals involved in cutting and loading the signs. One of the vehicles was later stopped for a tint violation, and the woman driving, Isabella Marino, informed police that Mayor Wiggins had instructed her to remove the signs and offered payment.
