Draper Breaks Ground on Advanced Microelectronics Production Center in Lowell, Massachusetts
Draper, a technology company, has initiated the construction of its Integrated Microelectronics Production & Advanced Chip Technology (IMPACT) Center in Downtown Lowell, Massachusetts. A groundbreaking ceremony was held, attended by numerous local and state officials, including Lowell Mayor Erik Gitschier, UMass President Marty Meehan, UMass Lowell Chancellor Julie Chen, Governor Maura Healey, Draper President and CEO Jerry Wohletz, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Wexford Chief Investment Officer & Senior Vice President Development John Grady, and U.S. Representative Lori Trahan. The 111,000-square-foot facility, part of the Lowell Innovation Network Corridor (LINC) project, aims to produce advanced microelectronics, with operations expected to commence in 2028.
