Voices of Today Literary Translation Award Shortlist Announced, Showcasing New Talent
The inaugural Voices of Today Literary Translation Award has announced its shortlist, aiming to bring contemporary Chinese literature to English-speaking audiences. The award, organized by Singing Grass and Paper Republic, received over 100 entries from 14 countries. Entrants translated an excerpt from Liu Zhenyun's novel 'Salty Jokes'. The shortlist includes translators from the USA, UK, Australia, and Malaysia. The winner will be announced at the Beijing International Book Fair. Judges praised the high standard of entries, highlighting the challenge of translating the novel's unique voice and dialect.
