Norman Police Arrest Man After Callaway House Burglary, Investigate Earlier Incident
Norman police have arrested Gavin Vanderven in connection with a burglary at the Callaway House apartment complex near the University of Oklahoma campus. Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress on September 27, where a resident found an unknown person in their apartment. The suspect then entered a second apartment before being located and arrested in a third apartment. Vanderven, who reportedly lived in the complex, was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on two counts of burglary. This incident follows a similar report on September 21 at the same complex, where a resident woke to find an unknown individual going through drawers. That person left before police arrived and was not found. The Norman Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section is actively investigating both incidents to determine if they are connected, and additional charges may be requested as the investigation progresses.
