Macau Airport Projects 8.14 Million Passenger Trips in 2026 Amid New Routes and Increased Frequency
Macau International Airport is forecasting a significant increase in passenger traffic for 2026, expecting to handle 8.14 million passenger trips. This projection comes as the airport plans to introduce new routes and increase the frequency of existing services. According to Macau International Airport Co Ltd (CAM), the anticipated passenger volume represents an 8.2% increase from the 7.52 million trips recorded in 2025. The airport's operator also expects 63,000 flight movements, 110,000 tonnes of cargo, and 1,200 business aviation movements in 2026. New routes include flights to Jeju, South Korea, and Phu Quoc, Vietnam, with additional services to Chongqing, China, and increased flights to Manila, Philippines. The airport has already seen new daily flights to Bangkok, Thailand, and bi-weekly flights to Shanghai, China, with plans to increase the latter to daily service.
