Bond Raised for Man Charged in Charleston Arson Investigation
The bond for Dakota Harper, 22, one of the individuals charged in an arson investigation in Charleston, West Virginia, was raised from $10,000 to $20,000. This decision was made during a preliminary hearing on Monday, where prosecutors successfully argued for the increase. Home confinement was also added as a condition of his bond. Harper and Felicity Eatmon, also 22, were both charged last week with first-degree arson and conspiracy to commit arson. The charges stem from a fire reported on September 27 at an abandoned home on Maryland Avenue. Surveillance video reportedly shows Eatmon providing Harper with a piece of paper, which was then lit and placed inside the home. The pair were seen partially entering the home as the fire grew. The adjacent Canaan United Methodist Church sustained over $10,000 in estimated damage from the blaze.
