Huntington Beach Community Revitalizes Autism Awareness Mural to Foster Understanding
In Huntington Beach, a local nonprofit, AMUSE 4 Autism Foundation, has spearheaded the repainting of an autism awareness mural in the parking lot of a Denny's Restaurant. The initiative, led by founder Brittany Bas, aims to spread awareness and foster community support for autism. The mural, originally painted in 2020, was covered earlier this year, prompting the community to come together to refresh it. The project involved local artists and community members, including Huntington Beach Mayor Casey McKeon and local firefighters. The mural is part of a broader effort by AMUSE 4 Autism to educate first responders and the public about autism, aiming to create a safer and more understanding environment for families affected by autism.
