Greenfield Community College Receives Grant to Enhance Character Education
Greenfield Community College (GCC) has been awarded a $48,741 grant from the Educating Character Initiative (ECI) to develop a comprehensive framework for character education. This initiative aims to enhance students' relational, civic, and leadership skills across various academic and co-curricular programs. The grant will support the establishment of a character education steering committee, professional development for faculty and staff, and the integration of character education into the college's curricula. The project, titled 'A Community College Framework for Character: Strengthening Relationships and Cultivating Citizenship,' seeks to align economic mobility with civic engagement, emphasizing the importance of communication, empathy, and conflict resolution skills.
