ICE Deported 174 DACA Recipients in 2025, Agency Head Confirms
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported 174 individuals under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program from January to September 2025, according to a letter from ICE's acting director, Todd Lyons. The letter, addressed to Illinois congressional representative Delia Ramirez, also noted that 270 DACA recipients were arrested during the same period. The deportations and arrests reflect the Trump administration's stance on immigration enforcement, particularly targeting individuals without legal status, including those with DACA protections. The figures have sparked criticism and concern over the future of DACA and its recipients, known as 'Dreamers'.
