Wyoming Senators Lummis and Barrasso Support Trump Nominee Todd Blanche Despite Opposition
U.S. Senators Cynthia Lummis and John Barrasso have expressed their support for President Trump's nominee for attorney general, Todd Blanche, despite significant opposition from within Wyoming's legal community. A letter signed by 71 Wyoming attorneys, including retired judges and former state attorneys general, was sent to the senators, highlighting concerns over Blanche's qualifications and integrity. The letter references Blanche's involvement in a controversial settlement related to a lawsuit against the IRS, which critics argue was an abuse of the judicial system. Despite these concerns, Lummis and Barrasso have defended Blanche's record, with Lummis stating that Blanche has been effective in his role as Acting Attorney General and has fought against what she describes as 'liberal lawfare' targeting conservatives.
